Hotel Task Tracking Surveys

It may sound unusual, but it represents a tremendous upgrade from traditional paper and pencil monitoring. Using a carefully designed survey, companies can have their staff fill in when they've completed each room, or which room's they've completed, or which tasks they completed. Then, at any point, they can pull up a list and see the efficiency of the staff, what needs to be done, etc.

For example, a questionnaire can ask housekeeping what rooms they've completed, and which they skipped. Then as soon as they're done, the manager can look up the numbers and see if there are any rooms that still need to be cleaned. They can also see the efficiency of the cleaning, and find out who cleaned which rooms to gauge which employees are working quickly.

Another survey elsewhere can be kept at the desk, and customers that find that their room wasn't cleaned effectively can have their complaints logged anonymously. Then a manager can see which rooms received the most complaints, and compare that to the data on speed and efficiency. This type of monitoring is nearly unheard of in the hotel management industry, but its value is fairly clear.

Overall, it represents a tremendous upgrade in how hotels monitor housekeeping staff.
