Use SurveyMethods in Claude
The SurveyMethods connector lets Claude work with your SurveyMethods account. Ask it to create a survey and it builds the survey in your account and gives you the link to share. Ask how a survey is doing and it reads your results and summarises them for you.
The connector is available for accounts on both our sites. In Claude, choose the one your account is on:

Claude asks for your permission before it creates anything.
It can’t send email invitations, delete surveys or responses, or edit an existing survey’s questions. Do those in SurveyMethods. To change a survey Claude created, open the edit link it gives you.
Question types it can create: multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, ranking, comments box, star rating, Net Promoter Score, slider, rating matrix, text blocks, name, email address and phone.
Connect it
You need a Claude account on a plan that includes connectors.
- In Claude, go to Settings > Connectors and click Browse connectors.
- Find SurveyMethods US or SurveyMethods EU (whichever site your account is on) and click Connect.
- Sign in with your SurveyMethods login. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create a free one on the sign-in page.
- In a chat, make sure SurveyMethods is switched on in the tools menu, then ask away.
Your plan and limits
The connector works on every SurveyMethods plan, including the free Basic plan. Your plan’s limits apply as they do in SurveyMethods itself: the question types you can use, how many questions a survey can have, and how many responses you can see. Requests through the connector are limited to 60 a minute per account.
Privacy and security
- Claude acts as you. It sees only your surveys and the surveys shared with you, as it would if you were signed in to SurveyMethods.
- Claude reads survey content and results only when you ask it something that needs them. What it reads is shared with Anthropic under Anthropic’s privacy policy. Our own handling of your data is covered by our privacy policy: US or UK & Europe.
- Surveys created through Claude go through the same anti-phishing checks as surveys created in SurveyMethods.
- To disconnect, go to Settings > Connectors in Claude and disconnect SurveyMethods. Claude can no longer reach your account from that moment.
Troubleshooting
“This SurveyMethods account uses the classic app” Your account is on our original platform, which the connector can’t reach yet. Sign in at online.surveymethods.com (US) or uk.surveymethods.com (UK & Europe) to move to the current version, or contact support.
Claude shows different surveys from the ones you expected Check you connected the connector for your site (US or EU). Then make sure you signed in to Claude’s SurveyMethods connection the same way you normally sign in to SurveyMethods (for example, email and password rather than Google). A different sign-in method can count as a different account. Disconnect, then connect again with your usual sign-in.
“Too many requests” Wait a minute and try again.
