Dashboard Overview

Your SurveyMethods dashboard is your command center for creating, managing, and analyzing surveys. This guide walks you through everything you’ll see when you log in.

Survey Home

When you first log in, you’ll land on Survey Home. This is where all your surveys live.

What You’ll See

  • Create Survey button - Start a new survey using any creation method
  • Survey list - All your surveys with status, responses, and last modified date
  • Search & filters - Find surveys quickly as your library grows
  • Folders - Organize surveys into folders for easier management

Survey Status Indicators

Each survey shows its current status:

StatusMeaning
DraftSurvey is being edited, not yet collecting responses
OpenSurvey is live and accepting responses
ClosedSurvey is no longer accepting new responses
ScheduledSurvey will automatically open at a set date/time

Top Navigation

The top navigation bar gives you quick access to key areas:

  • Surveys - Return to Survey Home
  • Contacts - Manage your contact lists and email distributions
  • Reports - View cross-survey reports and analytics
  • Account - Manage your profile, billing, and team settings

Survey Actions

Hover over any survey to reveal quick actions:

  • Edit - Open the survey builder
  • Distribute - Send or share your survey
  • Results - View responses and analytics
  • Copy - Duplicate the survey
  • Delete - Remove the survey (with confirmation)

Creating Folders

Keep your surveys organized with folders:

  1. Click New Folder in the sidebar
  2. Name your folder (e.g., “Customer Feedback”, “HR Surveys”)
  3. Drag surveys into folders or use the move option

Quick Tips

  • Star important surveys - Click the star icon to pin surveys to the top
  • Use search - Find surveys by name, even in large libraries
  • Check response counts - See at a glance which surveys need attention
  • Review last modified - Know when each survey was last updated

Account Settings

Access your account settings from the profile menu:

  • Profile - Update your name, email, and password
  • Notifications - Configure email alerts for responses
  • Team - Invite team members and manage permissions
  • Billing - View your plan and manage subscription
  • Integrations - Connect third-party tools
  • API - Access your API keys for custom integrations
