Checking Email Delivery Status
After you send an email invitation, SurveyMethods tracks what happened to each message so you can see who received it, who bounced, and who clicked through to your survey. This page explains where to find that information.
Where to Find Delivery Status
- Open your survey and go to the Collect tab
- Open your Email Invitation collector
- Use the Overview and Recipients tabs to review activity
The Overview Tab
The Overview tab shows two donut charts:
- Invitations - a breakdown of your total invitations into Clicked, Bounced, and Unanswered
- Respondents - your responses split into Completed and Partially completed
Below the charts, the Collector Activity section lists each message you sent, along with any reminders and thank-you emails.
The Recipients Tab
The Recipients tab lists every person the invitation was sent to. For each recipient you can see:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| The recipient’s email address | |
| First name / Last name | Contact details, when available |
| Sent | Yes if delivered, Bounced if delivery failed, or No |
| Responded | Yes once they start or complete the survey |
| Survey Link | Each recipient’s unique survey link |
How Statuses Are Updated
Delivery information updates automatically as your email provider reports back. A message is marked Bounced when the address is invalid or the mail server rejects it, and Clicked the first time a recipient opens their survey link. Statuses can take a few minutes to appear after sending, so check back shortly after a send.
If you see a high number of bounces, clean your contact list before resending. To follow up with people who have not responded, see Email Reminders.
