Logging In & Resetting Your Password

SurveyMethods uses a secure, hosted sign-in page to protect your account. This guide covers how to log in, sign out, reset a forgotten password, and change your password from inside the app.

Logging In

When you open SurveyMethods, you’re taken to the secure sign-in page.

1. Enter your email address (your username) and password
2. Click Continue to sign in
3. You’ll land on your Survey Home dashboard

Your session stays active while you work. If it expires, you’ll simply be returned to the sign-in page to log in again.

Resetting a Forgotten Password

If you can’t remember your password, you can reset it from the sign-in page:

1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?
2. Enter the email address for your account
3. Check your inbox for a password-reset email
4. Click the link and choose a new password
5. Return to SurveyMethods and log in with your new password

The reset link is time-limited. If it expires before you use it, just request a new one.

Changing Your Password While Logged In

If you know your current password and want to update it:

1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and choose My account
2. Under User Profile, click Change your password
3. Enter your current password
4. Enter and re-enter your new password
5. Click Submit

Your current password is verified before the change is saved.

Password Requirements

Requirement	Detail
Minimum length	At least 8 characters
Mix of characters	Use a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols

Changing Your Email or Username

Your email address is also your login. From My account > User Profile, use the Edit links next to Email or Username to update them.

Signing Out

To log out, open your profile menu in the top-right corner and click Logout. This ends your session on the current device.
