Survey Options & Settings

Customize how your survey behaves with configuration options. Access these settings from the Options panel in the survey editor.

Response Settings

Response Limits

Control how many responses your survey accepts:

  • Unlimited - Accept responses indefinitely
  • Set limit - Stop accepting after a specific number of responses
  • Survey automatically closes when limit is reached

Multiple Responses

Choose whether respondents can submit more than once:

  • One response per person - Uses cookies/IP to prevent duplicates
  • Multiple responses allowed - Let respondents submit again
  • Useful for feedback kiosks or shared devices

Anonymous Responses

Protect respondent privacy:

  • Anonymous - No identifying information stored
  • Identified - Track IP address and device info
  • Email collector responses include recipient info regardless of setting

Access Control

Survey Status

  • Open - Accepting responses
  • Closed - Not accepting responses (shows closed message)
  • Scheduled - Opens/closes automatically at set times

Close Date

Set an automatic close date and time:

  • Survey stops accepting responses at the specified time
  • Respondents see a “survey closed” message
  • Responses submitted before closing are saved

IP Restrictions

Limit who can access your survey:

  • Allow list - Only specified IPs can respond
  • Block list - Block specific IPs from responding
  • Useful for internal surveys or preventing abuse

Display Options

Progress Bar

Show respondents their progress:

  • Percentage complete - Shows 0-100%
  • Page numbers - Shows “Page X of Y”
  • Hidden - No progress indicator

Page Numbering

Control page display:

  • Show/hide page titles
  • Show/hide page descriptions
  • Configure page number format

Question Numbering

  • Sequential - Numbers continue across pages (1, 2, 3…)
  • Per page - Reset numbering on each page (1, 2, 1, 2…)
  • Hidden - Don’t show question numbers

Completion Behavior

End Page

What respondents see after completing:

  • Thank you message - Customizable text
  • Redirect URL - Send to another website
  • Show results - Display aggregate results

Partial Responses

Handle incomplete submissions:

  • Save partial - Store incomplete responses
  • Discard partial - Only save completed surveys
  • Set timeout for partial response cleanup

Randomization

Question Order

Randomize to reduce order bias:

  • Randomize all questions
  • Randomize within pages only
  • Exclude specific questions from randomization

Answer Choice Order

For multiple choice questions:

  • Randomize answer options
  • Keep “Other” option fixed at end
  • Keep “None of the above” fixed at end

Advanced Options

Back Button

Allow respondents to go back to previous pages:

  • Enable/disable back navigation
  • Prevent response changes after submission

Required Questions

Set default behavior for new questions:

  • All questions required by default
  • All questions optional by default

Language Settings

Configure for international audiences:

  • Interface language
  • Date/time format
  • Custom translations for buttons and messages
