Upgrading Your Plan
Need more features or responses? Upgrading your SurveyMethods plan is quick and easy. Changes take effect immediately.
How to Upgrade
- Log in to your SurveyMethods account
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
- Select My Account
- Click Upgrade under My Plan
- Select your new plan
- Confirm your payment details
- Click Upgrade Now
Your new features are available immediately after upgrading.
What Happens When You Upgrade
Immediate Benefits
- Instant access to all new plan features
- Response limit increases immediately
- New collectors (email, embed) become available
- Advanced features like skip logic unlock
Billing Adjustments
Upgrading Mid-Cycle (Monthly Plans)
- You’re charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle
- Your new plan’s full price starts at your next billing date
Example: If you upgrade from Advanced (£25/mo) to Professional (£45/mo) halfway through your billing month, you’ll pay approximately £10 for the remaining days, then £45 at your next renewal.
Upgrading Mid-Term (Annual Plans)
- You’ll pay the prorated difference for the remaining months
- Or, you can wait until renewal to switch plans

Upgrading to a Team Plan
If you need multiple user accounts, you can upgrade to a Team plan:
- Go to My Account
- Click Switch to Team Plan under My Plan
- Select the number of seats (minimum 3)
- Complete the upgrade
What Changes with Team Plans
- Multiple users can access the account
- Responses are shared across the team
- Consolidated billing for all users
- Admin controls for permissions
Note: Upgrading to a Team plan requires annual billing.
Keeping Your Data
When you upgrade:
- All surveys are preserved - Nothing is deleted
- All responses are kept - Historical data remains accessible
- Settings transfer - Your preferences carry over
- Branding stays - Any customization you’ve done is maintained
Upgrading During a Free Trial
If you’re on a free trial of Advanced or Professional:
- You can upgrade to a higher plan anytime
- Your trial converts to a paid subscription immediately
- You’ll be charged the full amount for your new plan
Common Questions
Can I upgrade in the middle of a survey?
Yes! Upgrading doesn’t affect active surveys. New features become available immediately, including for surveys that are already collecting responses.
Will I lose responses if I upgrade?
No. All your existing responses are preserved. Upgrading only adds capabilities—it never removes data.
Can I switch from monthly to annual billing?
Yes. Go to My Account and click Change Billing Cycle under My Plan. You’ll pay the annual amount minus any credit for your current month.
What if I need to upgrade urgently?
Upgrades are instant. As soon as you complete payment, your new plan is active.
