Welcome & Thank-You Messages
A friendly greeting at the start and a personal message at the end make your survey feel more considered and improve completion rates. Here’s how to set both up in SurveyMethods.
Greeting Respondents
SurveyMethods doesn’t have a separate “welcome” setting. Instead, add a Text Block element at the top of your first page in the Survey Editor:
- Open your survey in the editor
- Add a Text element and drag it to the top of the first page
- Write your greeting - explain the purpose, how long it takes, and how the responses will be used
This shows as the first thing respondents see, before any questions.
Custom Thank-You Message
Each collector can display its own message when a respondent finishes. This is set per collector, so different links can thank people differently.
- Go to your survey’s Collect tab and open (or create) a collector
- In the collector options, expand Custom thank you
- Turn the switch On
- Enter your message in the text box
The switch reads “On, show a custom thank you message upon survey completion.” When off, respondents see the default end page.
Survey End Page
Below the thank-you setting, the Survey end page option controls where respondents go after submitting. This is a plan feature and may show “Upgrade to unlock” on some accounts.

If you choose a specific URL, enter a full, valid address (including https://).
