Managing Devices & Active Sessions
Your SurveyMethods account can be used on up to two devices at a time. The Devices page lets you see which devices are connected and remove ones you no longer use.
Viewing Your Registered Devices
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
- Go to Account
- Select the Devices tab
Each device is listed with its details:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Device | Browser and operating system (e.g. “Chrome on Windows”), plus IP address |
| Last Active | When the device was last used |
| Registered | When the device was first connected |
| Actions | Remove the device |
Your current device is marked with a This device badge. A counter at the bottom shows how many device slots are in use (for example, “Device slots used: 2 / 2”).
Removing a Device
To free up a slot, remove a device you no longer use:
- On the Devices tab, find the device you want to remove
- Click the trash icon in the Actions column
- Confirm in the dialog that appears
You cannot remove the device you are currently signed in on. After removal, that device will need to sign in again to reconnect.
Device Limits
To keep accounts secure and prevent sharing, a few limits apply to paid plans:
- Two devices connected at a time
- Three removals per month
Once you reach the monthly removal limit, the trash icon is disabled until the next month. The counter shows removals used (for example, “Removals this month: 3 / 3”).
Switching to a New Device
If you sign in on a new device while already at the two-device limit, you’ll see a Device Limit Reached screen. From there:
- Select one of your existing devices to replace
- Click Remove Selected & Use This Device
The old device is removed and your new device takes its place, counting toward your monthly removal limit.
