Moving to the New SurveyMethods

We’ve rebuilt SurveyMethods from the ground up — faster, cleaner, and packed with new capabilities like AI-assisted survey creation, a reusable question bank, sentiment analysis, and first-class event registration. This guide helps you make the move with confidence.

The short version

Your work comes with you. Surveys, responses, contacts, and your distribution history are migrated to your new account automatically. See What Transfers to Your New Account.
Your existing survey links keep working. Old email and web links redirect to the new survey. See Your Existing Survey Links Still Work.
A few things look different. The concepts are the same, but some are renamed or reorganized. See What’s Changed & Where to Find It.
A small number of surveys may need a quick review before or after they move. See Reviewing Your Surveys After Migration.

How the move happens

Your migration is handled for you — you don’t need to re-import anything. When your account is ready, your surveys, responses, and contacts appear in the new SurveyMethods exactly where you’d expect.

Before an account moves, we check each survey and flag any that use a feature that works differently in the new app (for example, older question formats). Most surveys move with no changes at all; the rare exceptions are called out so nothing is lost unexpectedly.
