Reviewing Your Surveys After Migration

The vast majority of surveys move across with no changes needed. A small number use older features that work differently in the new app — this article covers what to look out for so nothing surprises you.

Question types that need attention

A couple of legacy question formats don’t carry over as-is:

• Conjoint analysis questions aren’t available in the new app. A survey that contains one needs that question removed or replaced before it can move.
• Contact information questions are handled differently now. The new Contact Information question collects the same details in a cleaner, structured way, so these are worth re-checking after migration.

Where a survey uses one of these, our team flags it so you can adjust it — nothing is deleted without you knowing.

Sharing needs to be re-set at the folder level

Because sharing moved from individual surveys to folders, any per-survey collaboration you had set up should be re-established by sharing the relevant folder with your colleagues.

File uploads

Answers where respondents uploaded a file are kept in the classic system; the files themselves aren’t copied into the new app. The rest of those responses migrate normally.

Features that aren’t part of the new app

• Newsletters and Polls aren’t part of the new SurveyMethods. If you relied on these, contact our team to discuss the best alternative.

A quick post-migration checklist

1. Open a few key surveys and confirm the questions and logic look right.
2. Check your reports show your responses and history.
3. Re-share any folders with colleagues who need access.
4. Review your contact groups and custom fields.
5. If you run events, open My Events and confirm your registrants and capacity.
